Trainings for public authorities
Description
The staff of public authorities are generally qualified in public administration but rarely possess in-depth knowledge of the specific needs of the agri-food sector. Through special trainings staff within public authorities may be enabled to offer improved service delivery to the sector. Management within public authorities in order to implement political strategies and formulate targets may also be approved.
Requirements
- Clear and coherent political strategy and targets for policy-makers and public authorities
- Clear responsibilities in public authorities
- Definitions of good agricultural practice in respect of soil, water, climate and air, as well as biodiversity
- Good knowledge of good agricultural practices
- Quality standards in agricultural advisory services that are in line with the national agricultural policy and definitions of good agricultural practice
- Training opportunities for advisors that reflect the definitions of good agricultural practices and agricultural policy
- Skilled / specialised personnel to man the respective institutions / provide the respective services
Possible Negative Effects
- Lack of practical relevance and too much emphasis on theory
- Content taught does not meet the needs of the target group
